THE PIGMENTS

ARTIST’S HANDS

Al fresco mural painting is a totally artisan procedure. It has, as a main tool, the artist’s hands, which uses elemental tools to create his work.

SCRAPE AND DUMP THE WALL

The finality of scraping the wall is to open the cape of carbonate of calcium of the wall to favor the absorption process of humectación of the wall, necessarily to facilitate the correct adhesion and plotted  of the lime mortar.

SPREAD THE LIME MORTAR

The first phase of making the fresco painting. It allows us to level the wall and to be able to realize the application of the pigments.

STENCIL THE LINES

It consists in putting on the drawing to real scale to be able to mark a few traces that I use as guide at the moment of executing the painting.

PAINT OVER FRESH MORTAR

When the lime mortar that we have applied on the wall is in its ideal point of plotted, is the moment to apply the mineral pigments dissolved in water and realize the pictorial action. To paint the fresco mural paintings, I use pigments of mineral nature compatible with the lime. They are pure, resistant, solid pigments, not pollutants and soluble in water.

After several days of working, the fresco mural painting is finished. Nevertheless, they will have to spend a few months before the painting does not acquire to 100 % all the technical properties like petrification, impermeability, solidity, etc.
